***PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE FACT THAT ASH WEDNESDAY FALLS ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 14th, the CELEBRATION OF ST. VALENTINE WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10th THIS YEAR.***

Whitefriar Street Church has had a long association with St. Valentine. This is largely due to the fact that his relics reside in the church. Every day, throughout the year, people come to his shrine to ask for his intercession, guidance and protection.

This year, due to the fact that Ash Wednesday takes place on Wednesday February 14th, the celebration of St. Valentine will take place on Saturday February 10th. To mark the feast in Whitefriar Street Church, there will be two special Masses celebrated at 11.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m., and the Mass will included the blessing of rings. The homilist will be Father Bernard Murphy of the Whitefriar Street Carmelite Community
